care & repair

Oliver Furniture always strives to create the most valuable product for you and your family. Valuable in terms of a natural material, a fair and environmentally friendly value chain and great respect for the needs of a growing family. When we pass on the product, we also take responsibility for its long life. Repairs and maintenance are crucial to prolonging the life of our furniture. If you need advice, we are always happy to help.

mattresses

Our mattresses have a core of Oeko-Tex-certified European cold foam, which is very comfortable, breathable and hypoallergenic, quickly regains its shape after use and has a high load-bearing capacity. Volume weight 28.5-33 kg/m3.

The cover is made of GOTS-certified organic herringbone cotton, quilted inside with a layer of Oeko-Tex-certified recycled PET. The removable top layer of the cover is impregnated to protect the mattress from stains. The top cover is machine washable (max. 40°). For more details on maintenance and care, see Cotton Textiles.

Our mattresses are made in Europe and comply with European safety standards and norms. The mattresses are tested according to the safety standard EN 16890 and in accordance with the European fire safety standards EN 71-2 and BS 7177.

USE OF WOOD

OAK
Oak is a tough and durable wood that contains natural tannins that protect against bacterial growth. Combined with its light, elegant colour and well-defined grain, oak is an excellent, long-lasting choice for high-quality interiors. Our oak is mainly sourced from European forests that support sustainable forestry. The wood is carefully selected, and all processing is done by hand, ensuring that only the best and most durable pieces of wood are used in our products.

For daily cleaning, use a damp, well-wrung cloth. Ensure that you treat the entire surface evenly. We do not recommend the use of detergents for daily cleaning. Spills must be removed immediately to minimise the risk of long-term staining.

For oil-treated items, it is advisable to re-treat 1-2 times per year, depending on use, to maintain the surface's protective layer and preserve the oil's aesthetic qualities. When it's time to re-treat, use a suitable oil treatment product and follow the instructions carefully. Please avoid contact with the oil and other materials to prevent stains and marks.

Care

General recommendations

We always recommend washing less to reduce the environmental footprint. Only wash when it is necessary. Fresh air and some spot cleaning can often do the trick.

  • Wash with similar colours.
  • Wash with lower temperatures. It will make your fabric live longer.
  • Hang to dry instead of dry tumble.
  • If ironing, use as low heat as possible and preferably use a steamer instead.
  • Repair when broken.

Try to fix it instead of throwing it away. Follow the care labels for
instructions, and be aware that they indicate the highest temperature allowed.

Care

cotton textiles

Cotton is made from the natural fibres of cotton plants and is beloved worldwide for its smoothness, breathability and comfort. However, cotton’s most prominent environmental impacts result from the use of pesticides, the consumption of water, and the loss of biodiversity. This is why we have chosen to use organic cotton that is Oeko-Tex certified or, even better, made from leftover fabric.

  • Wash at low temperature.
  • Stain wash when possible instead of washing the whole garment.
  • Always follow the care label instructions carefully.
  • Avoid the fabric from crinkling by shaking/stretching the wet garment and hanging it to dry.

Care

Stain wash

If you get a stain, we highly recommend removing it separately and as soon as possible.

If the stain is in a difficult area, take a kitchen bowl and spread out the area where the stain is on top of the bowl. Pour lukewarm water into the bowl and run over the stained area. If you quickly perform this “operation” shortly after the spot or stain appears, preferably still wet, this can be a little trick of genius.

If the stain is grease or oil, gently place a drop of uncoloured
dishwashing soap onto it and rub it gently, then pour more water to remove the soap.

5 Year Warranty

Each Oliver Furniture product has a 5-year warranty covering wood construction defects. In addition, we guarantee a five-year availability of the most common conversion kits for all convertible furniture from the date of purchase.
